Case Study: New Combi Boiler Installation in Colchester
Location: Colchester, Essex

The Existing Boiler
Boiler Type: Floor‑standing boiler
Hot Water System: Unvented hot water cylinder
Property Type: 2 bedroom bungalow
The property was running on an older, floor standing boiler paired with an unvented hot water cylinder. While functional, the system was inefficient, took up valuable space, and no longer suited the homeowner’s needs for simplicity, efficiency, and reliable hot water on demand.

The New Boiler Installed
Boiler Installed: Worcester Bosch Greenstar 4000
Output: 30kW
Boiler Type: Combi boiler
Installation Type: Full conversion from floor standing boiler and unvented cylinder
We removed the existing floor standing boiler and unvented cylinder and converted the system to a Worcester Bosch Greenstar 4000 30kW combi boiler, a highly efficient and reliable choice ideal for a bungalow of this size.
This upgrade delivers:
- Instant hot water on demand
- Improved energy efficiency
- Lower heating and hot water bills
- Compact, modern design
- Quiet and reliable operation
Shower Upgrade as Part of the Conversion
During the conversion, it was identified that the existing Aqualisa shower processor and shower were not compatible with the new combi boiler and mains pressure system.

This upgrade ensures consistent water temperature, improved pressure, and a much better showering experience for the homeowner.
